Privacy Policy

Castique turns content you choose into a short, two‑host audio episode. This policy explains what the service handles and why. It applies to the Castique app and web pages.

What we process

• Content you submit — the article URL, pasted text, topic notes, or PDF text you provide. We fetch the article (when a URL is given) and send the text to our AI provider to generate a transcript and audio. The completed episode is delivered to your device. Once the app confirms it was saved locally, we delete the temporary server job, including its input, transcript, and audio. If delivery cannot be confirmed, the temporary job expires automatically after at most 2 hours.
• An anonymous session identifier — a random ID stored in a cookie (web) or kept by the app. It protects a temporary generation job and links your credit balance. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account, because Castique has no accounts.
• A temporary Live Activity push token — if you start an episode on iPhone, the app may send an opaque Apple push token so the Lock Screen can show generation progress while the app is closed. It is tied only to that short-lived job, is never shown to other users, and is deleted with the job after delivery or expiry.
• Purchase verification — if you buy a credit pack through Apple, the app sends StoreKit transaction information to our server so we can verify the one-time purchase and add the correct credits. We do not receive your payment card number.
• Basic technical logs — standard request metadata (timestamps, error diagnostics, aggregate usage counts) used to operate and protect the service. We do not use them to profile you.

AI processing

Before the first transfer, Castique shows an in-app AI Data Sharing notice and asks for your explicit permission. You can review this notice and withdraw permission at any time from AI data & privacy in the creation screen. Withdrawing permission prevents future transfers; it does not recall a generation that is already in progress.

Transcripts and speech are generated by Google's Gemini API. The content you choose and your generation settings are sent through Castique's server to Google solely to write the transcript and generate the audio. For paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products, although they may be retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring and legal obligations under Google's API terms.

When Castique cannot read a public article directly, its URL may be sent to Jina AI Reader to retrieve readable text. Jina AI states that API requests, inputs, and outputs are not used to train its models. Castique requires service providers that process user data on its behalf, including Google and Jina AI, to use it only for the disclosed service purpose and to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this policy and required by applicable law.

What we do not do

• No user accounts, names, or passwords.
• No advertising and no selling of personal data.
• No third‑party analytics or tracking SDKs by default.

Data retention & deletion

Your podcast library is stored on your device, not in a permanent Castique server history. You can delete episodes from the app at any time. If you choose to back up or sync your library through iCloud or another file provider, that storage is controlled by the provider and your own account settings.

To revoke consent for future AI processing, open AI data & privacy on the Castique creation screen and choose Withdraw consent. To request deletion of any temporary service data that has not already expired, contact us at the address below. We may ask for the anonymous job identifier needed to locate it.

Children

Castique is not directed to children under 13.
